This was our third year in attendance. Wow...where does the time go! This was a bumper year for us with eleven tables in all. It was an extremely busy but fun filled day. We would like to thank everyone for coming along. It was a pleasure to see the regulars again, as well as a number of new faces. We very much look forward to seeing you all next year, our forth year in attendance.

WINE TASTING EVENT IN OXFORD

This was a small, friendly event held on 25th November at the Deddington Arms in Banbury, Oxford with Lusowest being the sole sponsers and supporters alongside Catarina Feria-Walsh who organised the event. Wine expert Sarah Long provided the low down on each wine, which was fifteen in all. An easy going, relaxed evening with some interesting discussions about food and wine and also a chance in the daytime to visit some noted Oxfordshire sights.

JULY

VINHO VERDE WINE TASTING EVENT IN LONDON

Back to London once again to attend another wine event specifically focused on Vinho Verde wines of Portugal. Held on Tuesday 12th July at Sugar Quay Jetty, Lower Thames Street, London EC3R 6DU. There were 13 producer tables (including ours) for walk-around tasting between 10.00 am to 4.00 pm.

A seminar was led by Dr. Jamie Goode at 10.30am to 11.30am, which of course attracted a lot of attention.

As always, a great fun-filled, albeit hectic day, that we are sure was enjoyed by all. Here are some pictures to recapture that day:

BRITISH EMBASSY AWARD

Dear Mr. Augusto Pires,

First of all I would like to congratulate you on your latest project in the UK, which aims to promote importation and distribution of wine, olive oil and other products from Portugal! I take this opportunity to wish you all the continued success in your deployment strategy in the region of Somerset, then to rapidly expand throughout the UK market!

The British Embassy - UK Trade & Investment has promoted in recent years a celebration of the achievements of Portuguese investment in the UK "Business Awards" in which we aim to recognize and thank all those who have chosen the UK to settle there and develop their international business.

We know how much this past year was a period of instability and increased risk, so our awards this year are of a nature even more meaningful and of celebration and optimism.

The LusoWest project is very significant of the enormous entrepreneurial potential of Portuguese PME's, and it is in this context that I hope to count on your presence at our event to be held at the Pestana Palace in Lisbon, on 21st April. It would give us enormous pleasure to present to you personally the "Business Internationalization Award", that the UK Trade and Investment has granted this year to LusoWest.

Alexander Ellis
UK Ambassador in Lisbon.
